Mercedes On A Mission: March 2016

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the lame email last week. A lot was going on and I didn't have a ton of time.

So, a lot has happened in the past week or so. Some of you already know, but my companion, Ses. Galaxy, decided to go home after only being in the country for a few days. (She's given me permission to talk about it, so here you go). She just felt like she didn't have a desire to be here, and that being here was really hard for her. I didn't really have a lot to do with her decision, I tried to get her to stay, but she decided that what was best for her was to go home. So Tuesday I took her to Prague, and Wednesday she got on a plane and headed home. She's doing really well now, so I'm happy for her.

So that means that I needed a new companion, so right now I'm still in Bratislava, and I'm serving with Ses. McPheeters, which is pretty cool because Ses. McPheeters and I were in the same ward at BYU durning summer semester in 2014. So we already knew each other, and we're doing well together.

Other than that not a ton has happened. I'm learning more Slovak and it's easier for me to understand now. I still only speak Czech, but I did have to learn a few things so that I could understand when people would speak Slovak at me. The branch is awesome here, the elders are really funny and dorky. And today we finally have some sunshine! It's been pretty overcast lately, so we're enjoying a nice sunny day.

Right now we don't really know what's going to happen in the next few transfers, because Slovakia is now down a sister missionary, but we at least know that I'll finish the transfer here in Bratislava and we'll just have to see what happens after that. Usually Czech missionaries can only stay one transfer in Slovakia because of our visas, but there have been exceptions in the past. We'll just have to wait and see.

I hope everything is going well for all of you, whereever you are. I know that God loves His children, and He's there for us, during crazy times, and during normal ones. :)
